The 2301A is designed to sense the speed of a prime mover, compare it to a reference, and adjust the fuel or steam mechanism via an actuator to maintain a constant speed and share load equally among parallel units.
It supports isochronous mode for constant speed operation and droop mode for speed control as a function of load, typically used when paralleling with an infinite bus.
The control accepts signals from a magnetic pickup (MPU). The input impedance is 100 to 300 ohms, and it accepts signals from 1.0 V AC minimum to 30 V AC maximum.
